Merge PDF files on Mac

Combine two or more PDFs into one document, in the order you want, without uploading them anywhere.

Free

Download PeekPlain freemacOS 15 or later. Free beta.

How to, in three steps

  1. Open the first PDF. It becomes the start of the merged file.
  2. Press ⌘K and type "Merge". Choose the other PDFs (or images) to add. Each file is added in the order you pick; images become one page each.
  3. Check the pages, then save. Reorder or delete pages in the page grid if needed. Save as a new file; your originals stay as they were.

Free. Merging is a basic job, so it is in the free version. Splitting a PDF apart is a Pro feature.

Works offline. Your files never leave your Mac.

Your PDFs are combined on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded, so contracts, invoices and scans stay private, and there is no file size limit set by a website. PeekPlain sends no files and no usage data anywhere; see the privacy page.

PeekPlain is in free beta and some features are still arriving. The changelog lists what has shipped.

Questions

Is merging PDFs free in PeekPlain?

Yes. Combining PDFs and reordering their pages is part of the free version. No account and no watermark.

Can I merge images into a PDF?

Yes. Pick image files when adding pages and each becomes one page of the PDF.

Does it change my original files?

No. The merged result is saved as a new file you choose. Edits to a file you already have open are saved with a backup of the original.
